Psychotherapy and Meditation

1

Are you at a time in your life when you need some extra support? You might be feeling stressed and overwhelmed, constantly worried, in emotional pain, troubled by self-critical thoughts, struggling with a relationship, or grieving a loss. In addition to the challenges that everyday life can present us, meditation can bring up feelings and memories that refer to root issues that have been hiding out in the    unconscious and are best addressed in therapy. Maybe you've tried to resolve these issues on your own , but you need some help, and don't know what to do or who to turn to. You are not alone.

I’m a licensed psychotherapist specializing in working with meditation. Trained in meditation by a Japanese Zen Master and an Indian Siddha Meditation Master, I’ve been practicing meditation for over 40 years. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy that engages your total self -- mind, body, heart and spirit. In therapy sessions, we will work together to understand and treat the causes of your issues, as well as the symptoms. I employ psychodynamic talk therapy, guided imagery, and simple tools for self-soothing, with the goal of helping you experience a more satisfying life, enjoy more fulfilling relationships, and rediscover your sense of well-being and peace of mind.

I invite you to call me at 310-903-9791 for a free 15-minute phone consultation. I’ll be happy to discuss your specific situation and answer any questions you may have. If you currently don’t have a meditation practice and would like to begin one, I can assist you with meditation instruction. Please note that I also welcome non-meditators to my therapy practice, and that meditation is not a requirement for therapy.
